Circus Schmircus

This literacy-based class (for grades 1-3) looks at the life of Daisy, an elephant who has been captured for the circus. Children are given the opportunity to learn compassion and critical thinking as they discover what is required to teach an elephant circus tricks and live as a traveling performer. Children will also learn:

• How elephants communicate
• How many years an elephant lives in the wild compared to in captivity
• How fun circuses can be without the use of animals
